Hi, I’m Kelly McLeod, Certified Holden Qigong Teacher, and I’m delighted that you found your way here and couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to the amazing art of Qigong and how it might positively impact your life.
Since I was young, I’ve always had an affinity for the healing arts. When I was just 12 years old, I wanted to be a brain surgeon, and my passion for healing only increased as I got older. However, it was when I turned 19 that I really began a more in-depth study of healing traditions through the way of studying Yoga.
After college, I decided to pursue a career in molecular biology and vaccine development, a field that embodies western medicine principles. But despite the nature of my day job, I was always fascinated by Eastern healing traditions, such as Yoga and meditation, and longed to find a way to integrate my passion for these two distinct fields together.
It was in 2005, that my dream would start to become a reality when I attended a 1 hour Qigong class [at the Annual Yoga Research Society conference]. That webinar ultimately changed the course of my life. The more I learned, the more interested I became.
Things really started to click after I took my first breathwork class. For the first time, I could feel the flow of my own energy in my body and its impact on my nervous system, anatomy, and physiology. I realized that this ancient wisdom and technology was a powerful vehicle for self-healing and could positively affect well-being in mind, body, and spirit.
I knew then that I wanted to go deeper with my study of Qigong, and I decided to study with the masters, including Lee Holden, Mantak Chia and Daisy Lee, and become a Qigong Teacher in the Holden Method.
I love that Qigong is so accessible. As long as you go through the basic learning, you can start applying it to your life immediately. A “Certified Holden Qigong Teacher,” I am thrilled to share my love and knowledge of Qigong with my students.
My dream is to be a lifelong practitioner and teacher, spreading joy and sharing this art with people worldwide, and I couldn’t be more honored to share these teachings and embark on this journey with you.
